In a surprise move, The Weather Channel Companies is swapping out CEOs. David Kenny is replacing Mike Kelly as CEO effective immediately; the Akamai-Digitas vet also will be chairman of the company owned by a consortium of Bain Capital, The Blackstone Group, and NBC (NSDQ: CMCSA) Universal.

The reverb from Kevin Delaney’s departure from the Wall Street Journal for Atlantic Media Group just hit DC: WSJ alum Raju Narisetti is headed back to the Journal, swapping his role as managing editor of the Washington Post responsible for digital for managing editor of The Wall Street Journal (NSDQ: NWS) Digital Network. Narisetti, the founder editor of India’s Mint newspaper, also will be a deputy managing editor of the Journal. Release below.

Nearly two years after Atlantic Media Company suspended plans for a business site, the company is back at it with nothing less that what Justin Smith calls “our most important new launch since The Atlantic Monthly in 1857.” This version, planned for later this year, will focus on global business with Kevin Delaney as editor-in-chief.

The Huffington Post Media Group (NYSE: AOL) is partnering with Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso for the launch this year of an Italian edition, paidContent has learned. The partnership, to be announced today, follows a pattern already in place for the French edition debuting Monday and for the Spanish edition due to launch in March: team up with at least one major national media partner and tap into its existing network to create a new entity using the HuffPo model with localized branding.

Investors won’t have Jerry Yang to blame anymore. In a stunning move announced after the markets closed, the Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) co-founder resigned from the company’s board of directors and from all other positions—effective immediately. Just as quickly, Yahoo’s stock jumped in after-hours trading.

Neil Ashe said he wanted a break when he left CBS (NYSE: CBS) last year and he got one. Roughly a year after leaving as the president of CBS Interactive, Ashe is literally back in business. His new gig: president and CEO of Walmart Global eCommerce, responsible for just what it says—leading the global e-commerce strategy and operations of the mega-retailer.

The Daily is finally available in Android, sort of. The News Corp. (NSDQ: NWS) tablet tabloid, which has been iPad only since birth, is not being offered in the Android Marketplace but instead will start life in its second OS only on certain Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ) devices—and for now, only on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Comcast (NSDQ: CMCSA) Xfinity TV subscribers stymied by the lack of access to iPad app WatchESPN have relief in sight: a new multi-year, cross-platform deal between the Walt Disney Co. and the largest U.S. cable operator will open a lot of content doors, including access to current and upcoming authenticated products from ESPN, Disney and ABC (NYSE: DIS). It’s the first authentication deal for the Disney-ABC cable channels.
