Exchange4Media.com: It looks like Indian portals are gearing up for a music war. After Rediff launched its music download service, it seems now Yahoo! India is doing the same.
The report says Yahoo!India may soon launch a music site. Dr Prasad Ram, Chief Technology Officer, R&D, Yahoo!India, said, “Yahoo!India is looking for many growth areas, including launching a music site.” He, however, refused to give any timeframe for its launch.
When asked whether the music site would have Indian content or it would only be a replica of the present international Yahoo!Music site, Prasad said, “Yahoo! always emphasises in blending the local flavour into its content keeping the local needs in mind, hence, we will provide more of Indian music.”
