Sulekha.com Plans Travel Portal; Expands To Dubai, S’pore, London

CIOL has an interview with Satya Prabhakar, CEO and founder of Indian community portal Sulekha.com. The portal has come a long way from a part-time effort in 1998 (started by Prabhakar and his wife in their Austin, Texas, home). The social and professional networking site has a network of city portals as well as classifieds services in 23 cities worldwide. Now the company is planning entry into travel segment, says Prabhakar.
The portal is also expanding into such cities as Toronto, Singapore, London and Dubai, where they would launch services such as classifieds, blogs and property services. In India, the company would focus more on cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and in tier-2 cities like Ahmedabad, where internet usage is maximum.
