Indiagames has launched a loyalty program for gamers, offering rewards worth Rs.2 crores. Players are rewarded for playing games at their Games On Demand (GOD) portal (60 points per hour), as well as for downloading mobile games (10 points for standard games, 60 for Premium games).
The rewards program is called Club IG, and Indiagames claims that it’s the worlds largest rewards program for Gamers with rewards like the opportunity to fly a fighter plane in Russia (120000 points)and race Ferrari in UK (100000). Also on offer is the opportunity to compete to win a Skoda Car (75000), Sony Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Alienware gaming laptops, Nokia N-Series phones, and a wild card entry to the quarter finals of the World Cyber Games India. Interestingly, there seems to be a limit on some of the prizes on offer - like there’s just one fighter plane trip available, five PS3s and 20 N Series phones. I can imagine people spending more and more time on games as they get closer to the target number of points.
