Guruji.com Ties Up With Infomedia To Get Access To Latter’s Business Listings

The local search market in India is getting interesting. Guruji.com, a new Indian search engine with a focus on local search, has announced a partnership with Infomedia India Ltd, a leading specialist media company that owns directories, Yellow Pages. The partnership will allow Guruji.com to use the business listings of Infomedia Yellow Pages as part of their city search, a company release said.
Infomedia recently launched Hotfrog.in, a free business listing website. The company had also recently signed up with Google to become their authorised reseller of Adwords. Guruji had recently won $7 million funding from Sequoia Capital India.
Local search business is turning competitive with JustDial, the earliest player in directory business, securing funding from SAIF Partners. JustDial has internet and mobile plans.
