Cleartrip Ties Up With PLUS!
Cleartrip has tied up with Star India’s mobile application PLUS, to deliver travel related information to users. The service allows users to access travel information and make reservations via the client’s interface. The release has Sandeep Murthy, CEO, Cleartrip, stating their tie-up with PLUS will give them access to 200 million mobile users and sees 10% revenues coming from mobile in the next ‘couple of years’.
Hard to digest the 200 million claim considering the filter of active GPRS connections, in spite of PLUS being pre-loaded on all Sony Ericsson phones. The deal will see the addition of Cleartrip to PLUS’s travel services which already feature Makemytrip and Travelguru, who have been part of it since launch. While STAR has revealed downloads during the campaign around the 1,00,000 mark in the past, there has been no mention of active users. PLUS carries a variety of services including Banking, Travel, Yellow Pages, content from third party TV channels as well as mobile magazines.
