BSNL To Test IPTV In Kolkata In Feb; Launch Planned For April
BSNL’s Calcutta Telephones unit is going to trial IPTV in Kolkata in February and plans to launch commercial services in April, reports the Indian Express. They’re expected to spend around Rs.30crore on the project. Apparently, Calcutta telephones will provide an on demand content of around 5000 English, Hindi and Bengali titles. The report also states that BSNL’s is targeting 898 cities and towns for IPTV, at a cost of Rs.800 crore.
