Online world cinema community startup Jaman has inked a distribution deal with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), reports Indiantelevision. Initially 30 films by directors such as Satyajit Ray, Syam Benegal, Kundan Shah, Ketan Mehta and others will be distributed via Jaman. I just checked and 11 NFDC films, including Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron and Train to Pakistan are already up.

Jaman is an online video community site for world cinema, and features films from Latin America, China and India, as well as independent North American films. Videos are offered as pay-per-view, as well as for downloads.  Jaman had raised around $4 million in funding from its founder Gaurav Dhillon’s VC Fund. Earlier this year in April, Jaman had tied up with the Tribeca Film Festival, under which six films being screened at the fest were offered for free download for a period of seven days.
