Virgin Mobile Appoints Madhusudan Mandyam as CEO

Virgin Mobile (NYSE: VM) India has appointed Madhusudan Mandyam as its CEO, reports Afaqs. Mandyam was earlier president of Tata Teleservices. Branson had earlier stated Virgin was open to alliances with other partners, will these change things considering the lineage of the CEO and that TTSL and Virgin are currently enjoying wedlock? The comment seems to have been made to allay operator fears at that time, I doubt Virgin will be going anywhere in the mid-long term. Mandyam believes Virgin will be able to acquire 10 percent of the youth market in three years. Previous coverage on our thoughts on the MVNO market and the TRAI consultation paper here

Sub: NEGLEGENCY OF YOUR COMPANY LEAD ME TO FACE UNEXPECTED AND HUGE LOSS.

Sir,

I feel regretted to say that due to miscommunication and negligence of virgin mobile company, I’ve faced a huge problem in my virgin connection. I’ve purchased a CDMA handset of HAIER with virgin SIM connection on 08-11-2008 from GLOBAL ACCESS, Yelanhanka New Town Branch, Bangalore-560064. The same day, I ve submitted the application with required documents and my sim got activated. But I could hardly use the virgin connection for 2 to 4 days, the outgoing facility got disconnected due to non availability of my application in the main office. Later on, when I made an enquiry about it, the Customer care Executives of Global Access started giving me excuses LIKE non-submission of proper address proof, photo not cleared in the documents, representative has not come to collect application, non-submission of sticker, giving date one after one and post-ponding the issue day by day. And now, it has been more than 5 days, my sim got de-activated and instead of rectifying my issue, incoming facility has also been removed. Initially, removing of outgoing calls have already brought too much of loss in my business and now removing of incoming facility also added loss to some more extent.

At the very first day, when my sim got disconnected, I started following their excuses, gave much priority to their commitments and tried my level best to resolve my issue. But, I am very sad to educate you that their negligence towards my issue made me suffer like anything and crossed all the limits.

Here, I would like to ask your goodself only one thing, If you want your company should grow professionally and be the market leader in coming future, what would be your steps, would u like to provided the business authority in such hand who does not care for the customers. When I shouted in the shop about the issue in front of other customers, what would be the impact of it on the customers towards your company?

I can surely say that like me, there are lots of customers who are facing such problems due to such negligence. Like other customers, even I was silent but at last when I found, the senior authority is also doing the same, I’ve found no other resolution except lodging a complaint about the issue under your kind jurisdiction.

Addition to it, I’ve undergone in such harassment, coming every day in the shop, wasting my time more than 2 hours, made me depressed and tortured like anything, as a result facing unexpected and huge loss, who is going to compensate for that loss of Rs. 5 Lakhs. I’ve handed over the cell with sim card to the shop and until and unless my issue gets resolved and the loss gets compensated, I am not at all going to take back the cell. So before I proceed for further steps, I’ve decided to mail you about it.

So, request your goodself would very kindly ponder into the matter and arrange the necessary steps to resolves my issue and compensate the loss.

An early action is highly appreciated.

Yours truly,

Kamal Bhadra,
