Video Content Roundup: BigFlicks-RajTV; Rajshri-Baba Ramdev

BigFlicks.com has added Tamil Content to its online video streaming portfolio via an alliance with Raj TV Networks. BigFlicks.com is the Reliance ADA Groups video rental and online video streaming co. They’ll be offering Raj TVs content for free streaming, probably looking to offset the cost of streaming with advertising. As per the release, BigFlicks already has content from NDTV, Zoom, Star TV and 7 Star Care. The Raj TV group has three channels - Raj TV, Raj Digital Plus and Raj Musix.

Note that NDTV, Zoom and STAR TV are also supplying content to Rajshri Films, which had launched a Tamil content section earlier this year.  I just checked Rajshri for (comparative) updates and noticed that they’ve added yoga videos from Baba Ramdev, as a part of an exclusive arrangement with the Divya Yog Mandir (Trust). I just spoke to Rajjat Barjatya, MD of Rajshri Media, who said that this is just a soft launch and they’re currently populating the section with content. Barjatya believes that “more than Bollywood, it’s content like this which will cross over, and reach out to a much wider audience across the globe.”
