UTV Motion Pictures Ties Up With Virgin Comics

I’ve lost track of the number of franchises that Virgin Comics is creating…too many too fast? This time, they’ve tied up with AIM listed UTV Motion Pictures to create four original superhero franchises; these stories will be leveraged across publishing, film, animation and gaming. The franchises will be co-owned by Virgin and UTV Motion Pictures and the partnership will be managed by Suresh Seetharaman, President of Virgin Comics and Vikas Bahl Creative and Business Head of UTVs production brand Spotboy. The superhero characters will be India specific, and will be first released as graphic novels. The first graphic novels from the partnership are expected to be released by the end of 2007. I wonder what happened to Studio18’s partnership with Virgin Comics, after the Viacom18 deal…that was for 10 movies.
