TV18, Infosys BPO Launch Media Outsourcing Biz; To Focus On Repurposing Mobile Content, Others

The TV18 group is following in the footsteps of NDTV and Genpact. The Delhi-based media group has has formed a partnership with Infosys BPO for a media and entertainment outsourcing firm, reports Business Standard. The new entity will be called Source18, which will be a media process outsourcing company that will offer a range of services to media and entertainment companies globally. It has already won clients, one among them being National Geographic International (NGCI). The new firm will re-purpose current as well as archival content for the mobile platform, says the BS report. The company will offer services like digital archiving, metatagging, and re-purposing content. The firm also has a tie-up with Tangerine Digital Entertainment, a company specialising in content repurposing and media process outsourcing, for part execution of the contracts.
In March 2006. NDTV and Genpact BPO had formed a joint venture for media outsourcing services.
