TRAI May Nag Operators About Realigning Rates - Chairman Misra

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s chairman Nripendra Misra apparently is puzzled by the rush of applications for mobile licenses and said the telecom regulator does not have a first come first serve policy for spectrum allocation. [via Business Standard].

The chairman hinted that since operators have not re-aligned their rates, including those for roaming services, the TRAI might just start poking at the issue yet again. Misra affirmed his intention to kindle fierce and constructive competition among Indian telecom companies. One can only hope that he keeps his word and backs the Indian consumer.
