Tips Pairs Up With YouTube For Bollywood Channel, No Revenue Sharing Deal

Just a few days after Bollywood producer Eros International’s move, comes news that music company Tips Music is also setting up its channel on Google’s video-sharing Web site YouTube. But businessofcinema.com reports that unlike the Eros deal, Tips doesn’t have a revenue sharing agreement with YouTube. Now, that’s really strange. The article goes on to say that Tips will be using the channel, which can be accessed here, only to promote new and upcoming film trailers, songs and music videos. Eros on the other hand announced that its YouTube partnership will help it earn advertising revenue as well.
Wonder if T-Series executives are scratching their heads about the legal notice they sent to Google earlier this year regarding the presence of copyrighted content on YouTube. Waits to be seen if T-Series changes its song as its rivals see YouTube more as an opportunity and less of a threat.
