Word has it that before the launch of Times Now, the Group was in advanced stages for a business news channel but canceled the idea in favour for the more lucrative general news segment. While TGBCL is currently scouting for an editor, the business news venture will be ‘championed’ by Rahul Joshi, current editor of ET according to E4M. Speaking of Times Now, Neel Chowdury, Head of Marketing, has moved to Network 18 as VP-Marketing for CNBC TV18 and CNBC Awaaz.

Another awaited entrant, UTV News, the Govindraj Ethiraj helmed business news venture, was expected to launch sometime this month but according to reliable sources mid-March looks doubtful, prolly being postponed till end of March of first week of April. Also, there’s been talk of a Mint TV from HT Media.
