Sumit Gupta, COO of Bloomberg UTV (formerly UTVi) since its launch early 2008, has stepped down, according to multiple sources. Prior to joining UTV, Gupta has worked at CNBC TV18.

Both Gupta and officials at UTV did not respond to repeated requests for comment. UTV executive director Shantonu Aditya, who has been heading the channel for a while in addition to his other responsibilities at the group, has now been given exclusive responsibilities of Bloomberg UTV, sources say.

Nothing is known about Gupta’s next move.
