Sumant Kasliwal, Business Head & VP Interactive For STAR India, To Join Microsoft
Contentsutra has learned from reliable sources that Sumant Kasliwal, Business Head & Vice President of Interactive Media (Internet) at Star TV India has put in his papers. While we haven’t been able to ascertain his role at Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT), it is believed that he will be reporting to Jaspreet Bindra, Country Manager for Windows Live and MSN for Microsoft India. Kasliwal was with STAR for over three years, before which he was Asst. Vice President at ICICI Ventures.

This is yet another move from a traditional media setup in recent months: after the fracas at Anand Bazaar Patrika and Piyush Shah leaving HT Media, Kasliwal has left STAR to join a pureplay Internet company. Some comments here about new media-old media issues
