The video game console market is set to hot up in India. Sony PlayStation 3 will be officially launched in India on April 27. It will cost Rs 39,990 for a 60 GB model. PS3 has, however, been available in India through grey market just a week after it was launched in Japan and the US in last November. Now with the official launch, the grey market prices will crash, which was something like Rs 50,000 a piece.
The console is not coming with any free games or any bundle offer. There will be gaming titles from companies like Electronic Arts, Namco Bandai, and Sony Online Entertainment, which are expected to cost Rs 2,799 a game.
The softwares will be distributed by Milestone Interactive Software Ltd. There will be some 12 game titles available, and some of them are Resistance: Fall of Man, MotorStorm, Genji, Days of the Blade, Formula 1 : Championship Edition and Ridge Racer7.
Microsoft’s XBox 360 was launched last year at a price tag of Rs 19,990 for a core system.
