Sony Launches PS3 In India; A 60GB Model Comes For Rs 39,990

Sony has officially released the PlayStation3 in India. As expected, they have priced PS3 at Rs 39, 990 for a 60 GB model. One needs to dish out an additional Rs Rs, 2,990 for a SIXAXIS wireless controller (it helps gamers physically turn, twist, and bank their controllers to command the on-screen action), and an extra Rs 1,990 each for a Blu-ray Remote Control and HDMI Cable. As of now, around twelve games will be available for the PS3 - priced at Rs 2,799 per title. There will be gaming titles from companies like Electronic Arts, Namco Bandai, and Sony Online Entertainment
The 60GB version of PS3 boasts of Blu-ray Disc (BD) drive, built in Wi-Fi adapter and multiple memory card slots. It will essentially give next-generation gaming and movie experience. GameGuru has more details.
PS3 has, however, been available in India through grey market just a week after it was launched in Japan and the US in last November. The grey market prices would have crashed by now. It was Rs 50,000 in November. Microsoft’s XBox 360 was launched last year at a price tag of Rs 19,990 for a core system. The premium version comes for about Rs 23,000.
