So It’s Probably Going To Be Reliance’s “Big Adda”
We’d broken the news to you about Reliance starting a social networking site. Now, we’ve received information that the site will probably be called Big Adda, hosted at www.bigadda.com. Company officials, however, have declined to comment, saying only that they’ll let us know when things are finalized.
I just checked, and the domain name ‘bigadda.com’ has been registered by Nikhil Soman of Reliance Entertainment, and the name servers are hosted with Zapak. I think the name Big Adda ties in well with Reliance Entertainment’s FM channel BIG FM, and could even be a play on the group company’s name ADA Enterprises Group. The logo hasn’t been finalized yet, and they’re asking visitors to select one. I liked Numbers 5 and 8.

“Adda”? Very North Indian or Bengali I should say. I don’t think south Indians will understand the meaning of Adda.

For a group (maybe not the ADAG!) that used underhand dealings with the babudom to promote it’s agenda, the name seems appropriate!
I don’t like any of the logos, but if I was forced to choose one - it would be #3

Just saw Indyarocks. Its pretty neat. I do not mind moving from Orkut to Indyarocks if my friends are willing to.
Their Free SMS feture is pretty good too. Am sure my friends wont mind moving away from orkut now.. Well one more point to consider is that its Indian and not a foreign site.
Lets see what BIg Adda has to offer..

Well it is just another social networking site with some good features. As it is from Relaince , we can say its Indian independent social community website. Everyone can promote it but nobody will change his flavour with Orkut.
