Shyam Tele Gets Pan-India Spectrum; Sistema May Up Stake
Shyam Telecom has been alloted pan-India CDMA spectrum for launching its mobile services. The operator, in which Russia based Sistema, having paid Rs 1,651 crore for the license fee, holds a 51% take, is the first of the new batch of license holders to get spectrum. Sistema president Alexander Goncharuk states they may increase stake in Shyam to 74% over a period of time, having already invested $500 million in India. Do note that last time Sistema had eyed increasing stake, it had followed through on the promise, increasing from 11% to a majority 51% stake, over the course of four months

Hope to see , big boom in Indian Telecom Market. Russians are historically known for their words and we must wait and watch the new telcom rivalry between GSM & CDMa operators.
