RCom, Airtel, Tatas In Bid For Majority Stake in Telkom Kenya

Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications and the Tatas are in the race to acquire a 51 percent in Telkom Kenya. [via Economic Times] Other bidders include British Telecom and Dubai-based Vtel Holding. Meanwhile, allAfrica.com reports that the Kenyan government is set to issue a fourth mobile phone licence to Telkom Kenya together with a third generation licence, which allows the transmission of data, images and highspeed Internet on mobile communications.
