Radio One Sets Up Mobile Voice Portal

Radio One 94.3 FM, a BBC and Mid Day Joint Venture has set up a voice portal for Bangalore, reports exchange4media. The portal gives access to comedy programs like Rajni Sir, K T Kunjumon and Chamrajpet Charles, answer a quiz, and also leave messages that will be aired on the radio station. The service is currently just available for Bangalore, (numbers: 505101094, and 1255594 on BSNL) and will be extended to other cities. The rates for the service, powered by OnMobile are not given. There is no standard pricing for voice portal services: Airtel’s regional content portal was priced at Re 1 per minute, and a monthly rental for Rs 15 for access; their Music Station was at Rs. 30/month, and the Marathi voice portal was Rs. 6 per minute. Another radio station, Big FM, has plans for a mobile voice portal as well.
