Update: We just learned that Pradeep Guha, former CEO of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd and one of the hottest media executives in the country, has agreed to come onboard as a consultant at INX Media, with a mandate to help run the cash-strapped company for a few months and find a full time CEO. The investors apparently convinced Guha to serve the company for a few months. Guha declined comment. Prior to joining ZEEL, Guha was president of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, where he worked for some 26 years. 

Original story: Former Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea and Indrani Mukerjea are stepping down from their management roles at broadcaster INX Media Pvt Ltd, contentSutra has learned. They founded the company with the backing of a clutch of private equity investors such as Temasek Holdings, New Silk Route Investments and New Vernon, in 2007. They will, however, continue as shareholders.

The company broadcasts general entertainment channel 9X as well as the music channel 9XM. It recently sold its english news channel NewsX to Vinay Chajjliani, the promoter of Indore-based Nai Duniya newspaper.

Peter Mukerjea was chairman and chief strategy officer and Indrani Mukerjea was founder and CEO at INX Media. While Peter will exit the firm end of March, Indrani will continue till April-end.

The company is learned to be in active search for a CEO. More updates as and when we get more details.
