Jivox, the developer of a self-serve video ad system, has raised a $10.7 million first round led by Opus Capital, along with Helion Venture Partners and other past backers. In March, the company did a $2.7 million seed round. The San Mateo, CA and India based company claims it simplifies the process of inserting ads into online video, and it hopes that by making the process easier, it will open up online video advertising to small business. In addition to targeting the US, the company is going after the Indian market, hence the investment from Indian-focused firm Helion. The company will use the funding for general purposes, developing the product and expanding sales. Release.
