So this might have been the genesis of reports that New York Times Company (NYSE: NYT) and Deccan Chronicle Holdings, that the two were in strategic talks: now NYT-owned International Herald Tribune will create a branded business section in Deccan’s new daily business paper Financial Chronicle. The section will be a version of the Business Asia with Reuters section, which appears daily in the IHT.  DCHL started The Financial Chronicle on April 16, publishing in Hyderabad, Madras and Bangalore. Our sources say that the 5 percent stake sale reports are a bit overblown…and there is certainly no plans for NYTCo to outsource any of the tech operations to the company. Also, the stake sale may not involve much cash to DCHL, our sources says.
