Even as it is trimming staff globally, Internet major Yahoo! (NSDQ: YHOO) will hire nearly 150 people in India, according to this PTI (via livemint) story. Available openings include those in engineering, customer care, research and product management. One note of caution, however: The story is based on positions advertised on Yahoo’s careers page. It’s possible that the positions were announced a while ago and the page has not been updated. In fact, a cursory glance over the dates on which the jobs were posted, shows that most of the jobs were posted before Yahoo! announced on 21 April it was cutting 5% of staff worldwide.

The Delhi High Court has refused to restrain IndianPetro.com from publishing confidential information about Petronet LNG, saying such an order would amount to curtailing the freedom of speech and expression, reports PTI. “Some may argue that the press could sensationalise the facts in presentation of such information, yet the right to disseminate these views is at the core of freedom of speech and expression and any restrain would have a chilling effect on its exercise,” the court said, according to the story. It imposed a cost of Rs1 lakh to the public sector unit to be paid to the proprietor of the website http://www.Indianpetro.Com. Unless the publication of such information threatens “the very existence” or “would gravely jeopardise a commercial venture”, there is no reason to restrain the media from publishing confidential information of companies, the court said.

Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd will invest Rs1,000 crore over the next three years to expand facilities and capture 12-13% of the printing and writing paper market in India, reports Business Standard.
