Tyfone Inc, a Portland, US headquartered mobile payment solutions company has received an undisclosed amount of funding from India based Ojas Venture Partners. The company intends to use the funds to scale its offerings in mobile banking, payments and retail merchant relationships in the US and internationally. Their Asia headquarters is in Bangalore, and they’re looking to ramp up global sales and operations teams, particularly in China. There’s a flash demo of Tyfone’s mobile payment product on their site. Ojas is backed by Nadathur S. Raghavan, co-founder and former joint managing director of Infosys Technologies. Interesting to note that Ziva Software is a part of the Ojas portfolio; the company had earlier received a Rs. 7.5 crore investment from Nadhathur’s VC firm NIHL, but is no longer listed in their portfolio.
