This is pretty interesting: all-in-one communication clients for PCs have been around for a few years, and now we are beginning to see some mobile clients as well: RockeTalk, a San Diego and India-based developer, has raised around $7.1 million in first round of funding, according to a regulatory filing, picked up by PEHub. Backers in this round include iSherpa Ventures, EDF Ventures and Mission Ventures.

The company was founded in November 2004 by CEO Rajiv Kumar, who previously was co-founder of bluetooth software company Widcomm that was sold to Broadcom. Rocketalk combines video, pics, voice and SMS into one client, and can be used to send messages to any other phone (with the same client) or online (and uploaded to sites like YouTube).
