Matrimonial, Job Sites User Figure To Surge 47 % In 2007-08
About 25 million people are expected to surf the Internet for jobs and a life partner during fiscal year 2007-08, Assocham reports. That is a more than 47 percent Increase over the 17 million online subscribers who registered themselves on employment and matrimonial Web sites last year. [via Mint]

Hi,
With due respect, I dont think this estmation or data is correct, what makes me think is that the industry is still to agree upon a number in terms of overall internet population in the country, which more or less looks like 38 million, and not growing at 60% or whatever this assocham is saying, it seems whenever we talk of digital media the order of the day is not less than 50%. To have a 60% growth, either the whole market has to grow by 60%, which is not happening! or the population on the internet has to drastically change their preference of usage of internet, which cannot change by over 10-15% year on year. If this is happening great!! but how is the question….....???
