Kingfisher To Offer Internet And Mobile Access On Long Distance Flights

Kingfisher Airlines intents to provide Internet and mobile connectivity in flight on its international flights, and has signed a deal with OnAir for the same. The airline will offer access to web based email and instant messengers starting 2008, and access to the the Internet and mobile communications in 2009. The service will initially be offered on ten aircrafts, though Kingfisher has plans to offer the service on all its long range aircrafts. Fees will be based on data downloads for internet usage, and mobile phone billing will be via carriers. Details of the service in the release (pdf). [via flightglobal]
