Job Portal Roundup: Referrals - NDTV, Techtribe; Monster-Video Resumes; Timesjobs-Nauk Out

NDTVjobs, powered by Yellojobs, is planning to introduce a referral system for online recruitment. They’re allowing companies to post jobs for free, provided that a premium is paid as a reward to ‘Nethunters’ (referrers) headhunters. The portal anticipates that 50,000 candidates annually will be placed by this model. [via NDTV.com]

—Another site trying the referral system is tech social networking site Techtribe, though referrals are limited to techtribe members, as per agencyfaqs. The initiatives is called “Front Foot”. The candidate cannot apply directly for the job, but can approve referrals. If the candidate is finally hired, techTribe pays the referrer Rs 10,000 and the person who invited the candidate to techtribe - Rs 2,000. Sure seems a better way of getting signups than the Orkut spamming that techtribe had tried earlier.

—Monster India has launched Video Resumes, wherein candidates can upload videos as a showcase of their presentation skills, and allow recruiters to screen candidates. Well, I’m not sure of how many people will be keen on it, but I think allowing video conferencing is a better idea than video resumes. That said, YouTube’s enabled a few TV hirings… [via release]

—Timesjobs continues its media attack on Naukri, with a “Nauk Out” campaign, “reports” ToI. The company is offering perks to recruiters who call for a demo: a free holiday for two.  Vivek Madhukar, National Sales Head, TimesJobs.com claims that the campaign has enabed 5,000 new clients in the last 30 days, and has resulted in a revenue progression of over 100 percent.
