Business publisher and event organiser United Business Media (LSE: UBM) is hiring its UK Property Week publishing director Sanjeev Khaira to be MD of its publishing and online operations in India - a market it says has “enormous growth potential”. UBM says it’s complementary to its existing exhibition and CMPMedica businesses as well as PRNewswire’s new Mumbai office.

CMP Asia CEO Jimé Essink: “UBM India is now one of UBM’s fastest-growing revenue contributors, alongside our China business.  UBM opened its first office in Mumbai back in April 2006 to support CMP Asia’s first exhibition there and we now have offices in New Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.” Titles under Khaira’s auspices were named weekly and monthly magazines of the year in the UK in the last couple of years; Khaira was named B2B publisher of the year.

UBM today reported pre-tax profit up 17.4 percent to £76.3 million ($152 million) in the last six months, on 10.4 percent better sales of £445.6 million ($888 million). See paidContent:UK for the full breakdown...
