Ibibo Tries To Collect “Opinions”

Looks like Mouthshut.com has competition: MIH India has launched a user opinions product on their portal ibibo, called, well, “Opinions”. Opinions are categorized as Cars, Movies, TV Shows, Airlies, Mobiles, Laptops, TVs, Digital Music Players, Books…what, no Music? Opinions is currently in alpha. Anyway it’s been done before, like most of ibibo’s other products.

I wonder how they’ll monetize Opinions -  for some it’s been about aggregating user opinions as research reports for feedback to companies. With opinions now being distributed across the web on blogs and forums - and not just restricted to particular sites - I think there’s an opportunity for someone to aggregate these opinions. Of course, there will always be doubts about credibility of opinions online, but then that’s true of offline as well.

Mouthshut.com and mih are not competitors.
mih is spreading its wings in too many places and going heads on
with yahoo and google.
mih is giant worth billions of $$ while mouthshut.com is worth 100million or so.
