Ganeshaspeaks Breaks Off From HT, Eyes New Strategic Partnerships

The future seems bright for astrology, with the overall market estimated at Rs 4000 crore and the online sliver valued at Rs 15-20 crores. Do note however that this market is highly dis-organized, ranging from a palm reader in Dadar to computerized horoscopes. Regardless, E4M reports online astrology site Ganeshaspeaks.com has seen a rise in its fortunes, claiming 40 percent market share of the online market (which would bring its capture value to approximately Rs 6 crores).

The portal, which gets one million visitors per month and generates five million page views is looking for new partnerships as a part of its strategy to enter the next phase of growth. This comes at the back of a falling out with Hindustan Times. “GaneshaSpeaks and Hindustan Times are no longer in a position to find a common ground as far as the arrangements are concerned. We will pursue deals with various web-based companies in India and abroad, whereby value can be added to the existing offering or it can be created for both the partners,” Hemang Arun Pandeet, CEO of GaneshaSpeaks.com said. Other websites in the same space include Astrolife.com and Astroyogi.com.
