Game Developers Accelerate Talks With Bollywood Production Houses

Video game developers are showing increased interest in tying up with Indian film production houses to create Bollywood theme games. [via Business Standard.] Game developer FXLabs is talking to five Bollywood production houses and Reliance Entertainment’s gaming portal Zapak is having discussions with three to four Hindi film production companies. The article claimed Bollywood-based games comprise five per cent of online and PC gaming, while Bollywood games on mobiles are approximately 15-20 per cent of the total content generated. Chief Executive of Hungama Neeraj Roy is of the opinion that soon Microsoft and Sony too could get serious about the Indian market and Bollywood-themed games.According to FXLabs Chief Executive Tony Garcia, “Today, India is the largest untapped market for gaming. I think the potential of PC and console gaming in India is very huge.”
