imageShishir Joshi (pictured, right), who recently left Mid Day as its group editorial director, has turned entrepreneur and launched Journalism Mentor—a one-year mentoring programme for aspiring journalists. “Unfortunately because of the pressures of daily journalism, the mentoring process, which was in place with seniors educating their juniors, is not available (today),” the website says, explaining the idea behind the programme. The course will be conducted in Mumbai and the annual fee is Rs200,000. Need-based waivers and interest-free loans are available, Joshi said. Outlook editor Krishna Prasad, media critic Sevanti Ninan and journalism teacher Aloke Thakore are among the mentors at the programme.
