Clickjobs.com To Target Mid And Bottom Of Pyramid; Is Looking For Second Round Of Funding

[by Cerius Shah] The Consim Info group (formerly Bharatmatrimony group) are looking at tapping into the small and mid sized consultants segment, who according to this Hindu report, contribute to 65% of the Rs 1,600 crore job market.

The consultants reportedly pay between Rs 30,000 to 3, 00,000 for a 3-12 month subscription. Clickjobs is looking to provide value to the market segment by forging alliances with Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) and Business World to offer an online and print mix to the consultants. Another point to note is that they are looking at re-aligning their positioning by being a career oriented website rather than job portal. AskNaukri.com has a QnA service which addresses the need but nothing in terms of career development, its main focus remaining finding the right man for the right job.

HR consultants are a lot more micro-managed in their hiring process and the industry is awash in a variety of mom & pop managers that aggregate job listings from top MNC’s via offline initiatives, email shootouts to Google (NSDQ: GOOG) groups. Clickjobs is looking at doubling its resume strength to 5 million in the next 6 months and will cross promote their website on Bharatmatrimony and Yahoo Properties. There are plans to go offline with the 100+ Bharatmatrimony centres in India to reach the non-corporatized sectors as well.

Canaan Partners and Yahoo have so far invested about $8.65 million (about Rs 33.8 crore) in the company. Clickjobs is seeking another Rs 20 crore to fund the expansion and expects to go into the green in another 12-16 months.
