Cleartrip Ties Up With Future Money To Offer Travel On EMI
Online Travel Agency (OTA) Cleartrip has tied up with Future Money, a Future Group non-banking financial corporation, to provide travel products - tickets, hotel bookings and tour packages on easy monthly installments (EMIs), reports Business Standard. The facility will be available for transactions between Rs. 6000 and Rs. 50,000. Future Money is taking the credit risk. Cleartrip has placed representatives at four of Future Group’s Big Bazaar outlets in Mumbai, and the service will be extented to other outlets. An additional benefit that accrues to Cleartrip is that it gets visibility offline in a high-footfall location like a Big Bazaar store. Question is, will people buy a vacation while shopping for groceries?

This could work. It may get people to consider their future plans or the possibility of a vacation while they’re at the store. If they’re interested, they can ask during their shopping or come back another time. I think it’s a good idea, but it could prove risky.
