Cleartrip.com CEO Sandeep Murthy has said that of the $11.7 million they had raised from venture capitalists like DAG Ventures (and Sherpalo), they’ve utilized around $8 million. I wonder if the company is looking to raise more funds to stay in the game, as most Online Travel Agents (OTAs) are funded. The company is also planning to start international ticketing within a month. Some numbers: average booking is Rs 7,000 per customer; they had 3 lakh customers last fiscal. Cleartrip plans to extend its tie-up with the Future group to 66 Big Bazaar outlets and 31 Pantaloon outlets. In the hotel segment, he expects revenue to grow by 30 percent.
