Business Standard In Content Tie-Up With UTVi

There’s been a significant increase in the news content deals this year, and there are signs that more are in the offing: Business Standard has announced a content tie-up with UTVi, the business news channel from UTV. UTVi will air BS Wire, BS Alerts and BS breaking news, and senior BS journalists and subject experts will be involved in shows on UTVi. Business Standard will also have access to extracts of interviews and stories on UTVi, and will print highlights of shows and interviews. Remember that Business Standard recently parted ways with Financial Times, which is reported to be partnering with Network18 for a newspaper.  There are reports of a “Mint TV” and a business news channel from BCCL for the Economic Times as well.

Also keep in mind that Govindraj Ethiraj (his blog), the Editor in Chief of UTVi was earlier the New Media editor of Business Standard. It’ll be interesting to see whether UTVi and Business Standard have a separate existence on the Internet, without any content sharing.
