BSNL Broadband Revenues At Rs 383 Crores, Marketshare Of 43 Percent

Some stats on broadband revenues from government owned teleco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), from Financial Express:

- BSNL apparently has a marketshare of around 43 percent
- Broadband revenues of Rs 382.6 crores in 2006-07, of which Rs 67.5 crore were from Tamil Nadu, Rs. 59.7 crore from Karnataka, Rs. 45.8 crore from West Bengal, Rs. 33.9 crore from Maharashtra. details on more states here
- Maximum revenue, Rs. 213.8 crore, was from its Home 250 plan, while Home 3300 plan generated only Rs. 3.6 crores

Readers should bear in mind that BSNL does not have the mandate to operate in Delhi and Mumbai, which are serviced by the other government telco, MTNL. MTNL is a listed company, and talks of a merger with BSNL have been around for many years now.
