Bigtree Tries To Play Ticketmaster With BookMyShow

Bigtree Entertainment, an attempt at doing a Ticketmaster in India, has launched an online ticket booking site called Bookmyshow, reports IBNlive. So far, they’re covering 27 cities and have Adlabs, PVR, Fun, Inox, DT Cinemas, Wave, SRS, M2K, Prasadz, Chanakya, 24 Karat, Movietime and Velocity on board—not all the theaters in Delhi, by the looks of it…I checked for the Simspons Movie (which I intend to watch soon), and Satyam Cineplex isn’t there.

Payment is via credit card, and there seems to be an additional, “convenience charge”, of Rs. 15. Transaction details are available on email and mobile—those are details which the company is likely to add to their “database”. Now Ticketmaster has bookings for Music, Sports, Arts & Theater and family entertainment like circuses. Bigtree plans to try theaters next. Bigtree is a TV18 group co, and while the Buzz18 the events section fits in with plans for Bigtree…it still links to movietell, rather than bookmyshow.

Disclaimer: I have an inconsequential number of shares of TV18 group companies
