BigAdda Launches Multilingual Messaging In 8 Languages; Holi T-Shirts With Myntra
Reliance ADA Group’s social networking portal BigAdda has announced that they have launched multiple messaging: users can now post scraps Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. I tried scrapping in Hindi - using both Firefox and IE - and the transliterated text wasn’t added to the scrap. So if you’re able to use the feature, do send me a screencap at nikhil AT contentsutra DOT com. BigAdda appears to have used transliteration, which Google (NSDQ: GOOG) had also provided for Blogger and Orkut. The company claims to have 1.5 million registered users, and they hope that the multilingual scrapping will help take the service to a larger segment…however, other features on the site are still in English. Also, with Holi in sight, I noticed that startup Myntra is providing T-Shirts to BigAdda users at Rs. 99 each. This follows shortly after Myntra announced tie-ups with Ibibo and HolidayIQ.
Update: Got word from a BigAdda representative who says that was a minor issue around the time I had tried it. I just checked again, and it’s been sorted out now.
