Bharti Asks DoT To Withdraw VoIP-related Showcause Notice

Bharti Airtel has sought the withdrawal of a showcause notice issued by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for installation of a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) gateway. [via Business Standard] The company, in a letter to the DoT, said it had neither violated any licence condition nor compromised on the monitoring aspect of the gateway.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued a show-cause notice to Bharti Airtel for offering services within 10 km of the international border area. Bharti has been served the notice for operating in Jai Nagar in Bihar.
