Kolkata’s Ananda Bazar Patrika (ABP) Group is scripting a new internet strategy. The company, which publishes Business World, Ananda Bazar Patrika, The Telegraph, plans to launch a classifieds site this year. Interestingly, there is no single general purpose classifieds site that has gained significant traction in India. Pramath Raj Sinha, managing director and CEO of ABP group, told Business Standard that the group is also planning a matrimonial website. (Ed: Is it a Bengali-focused site?).
The Telegraph group already owns shopping portal – thetelegraphstore.com – which was launched in June 2006, and a mobile portal mjoy.in.
